Florida Hospital Cancer Institute is seeking a dynamic LCSW to join our innovative team of professional outpatient oncology social workers. The LCSW provides appropriate oncology social work interventions in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team setting to cancer patients, families, and their caregivers throughout the disease and treatment continuum. Services are delivered in the form of supportive/illness adjustment counseling, group support and education programs, and resource/concrete service assistance in an effort to illness adjustment and minimize related psychosocial distress.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
Masters degree in Social Work
Current, active registration with the Florida Department of Health as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Experience in oncology social work or general medical social work preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Abilty to provide illness adjustment counseling in the inpatient and outpatient oncology setting including supportive, adjustment, and crisis intervention, family, and group with pediatric adolescent, adult, and geriatric cancer patients caregivers and family members.
Ability to work effectively under stress while managing crisis, conflict, time management, and frustration in a constructive manner.
Ability to assess the psychological, social, functional, and financial impact of illness and treatment plan on patient, family, and caregiver and establish a psychosocial and resource/concrete assistance plan of care accordingly.
Competent to institute Baker Act and/or work with appropriate physician to do the same, if necessary.
Ability to uphold professional standards by adhering to the NASW code of ethics and AOSW standards of care for oncology social workers.
