FSOSW net-ucation lesson 1: username, password, posting questions

I’ve gotten a few requests on some info that probably should have gone out as part of the original email (hence the title of this email is ‘net-ucation’ because I’m going through a learning curve as well!).

Username questions:

• Your username is the name you used when you signed up for the website.
• If you forgot your username, contact me and I’ll let you know what it is.

Password questions:

• Your password should have been emailed to you at the address you used when you signed up. If it got lost in cyberspace, contact me and I can get you a new one.
• If you want to change the password to something easier to remember than the automatically generated gobbledygook, log in to the website:

   1. Click ‘profile’ on the left side of the dashboard screen
   2. Scroll to the bottom and input your new password.

Posting questions:

• Return to the ‘dashboard’ from the main site by hitting the “site admin” link on the “home” page.
• To post information, click “add new” under the posts column on the left side of the dashboard.
• Make sure you select a category for your post to appear under in the categories box on the right side of the “new post” screen.
• Hit the ‘publish’ button on the top right side.
• If you have questions or the internet gremlins are wreaking havoc again, contact me and I will do my best to try to untangle the situation.

The dinner presentation at the Wellness Community–Greater Miami scheduled for Thursday, June 26 is planned to start at 6 PM and end at 7:30 PM.  Peggy Rios, Ph.D., Program Director, will be speaking about the special challenges of this area due to increased longevity with better treatments and the changing paradigm of cancer as a chronic illness.  One CEU will be offered.

We look forward to seeing many of you in the south Dade area unused to travelling north for meetings.  This will be a great opportunity to continue the theme from the state FSOSW meeting to educate our membership on this growing area of need in oncology social work.
